Hello blog people. The card I have to show you all today was made for a fellow crafter using a haberdashery stamp set from Joanna Sheen. It's not often I get to make a card for someone else that likes all things crafty so I hope she likes it! The background was coloured with distress ink and then over stamped with images from the set. Simple masking was done for the tape measure and zip stamp so that no overlapping lines appeared. The sewing machine was taken from the set and coloured using water colour pencils and then a mat and layer was cut using spellbinders dies. The Happy Birthday was mounted onto the card with foam pads to finish off and there you have it. Oh well back to rain watching and seeing if I can pick a few drier moments to take Ellis for a walk. Chocolate Swirls

Good morning. Today I have a card in chocolate brown with orange and yellow tones, sounds delicious doesn't it especially with chocolate swirls, but this folks is completely calorie free, yay!
I have used a Inkadinkadoo clear stamp set for the inch wide mountboard tiles, the swirl background is a Tim Holtz stamp and the sentiment and large flourishes have been cut on the Cricut using a Home Accent Solutions cartridge.
The tiles were spritzed with yellow and orange Glimmer mists and then the images were stamped on after they were allowed to dry using brown Versafine Ink. I then clear embossed them so they look like mini ceramic tiles. The flourishes and dream sentiment have been spritzed with gold glimmer mist and the base card has had a bit of distress ink added to it for good measure and there you have it.

Today I have a stitched flower card to show you. The stamp is from Elusive Images and has been stamped onto Grunge Paper. The image has been distressed around the edges with distress ink and the main flower design has been painted with Inktense water colour paints and then stitched. The backing papers are both from Dovecraft paper packs. The base paper has been inked with Peeled Paint Distress Ink. The happy birthday was stamped onto the same base paper and then stuck to some spare card to make it rigid so that it could be mounted onto the card with foam squares. As you can see most of the corners have been attacked with a round corner punch.

Here are some of the cards I made for my daughter to give out as her thank you cards for all of the lovely birthday presents she received. I made a bulk lot of the two cards above to give to most people. It was a simple design using Hero Arts flourishes a woodware daisy stamp and a dab from a pearl pen. It was stamped using Distress inks.

This dancer card (stamped using Inkadinkadoo stamp set, Hero Arts Flourishes and Whispers square shadow stamp)was made to give to her dance school as they kindly gave Katie a present and it is also where we had her party. The dancer and Thank you sentiment has been stamped onto pre-cut mount board which I coloured with paint dabbers in pink and then light green. (sorry forget the official name of the colours) I punched a hole in the mount board that has the dancer stamped onto it. A jump ring was attached with a couple of head pins which I had threaded with beads. The squares have then been mounted onto silver mirri card. The base card was stamped with the small square shadow stamp using dusty concorde distress ink. Over the top of that I then stamped some more Hero Arts Flourishes with the dusty concorde ink.

More Crafter's Kitchen flowers

I really love the flowers that Jak Heath from Crafter's Kitchen has been giving away on her blog. Here is another card I have made using them. I don't usually get involved with decoupage sheets but these are different as you still have control over the design of your card. It's really an aid to making your own embellishments.

I sponged brick red and milled lavender distress ink around the edges of the base card and stamped the swirl from Hero Arts using the milled lavender ink. The backing paper is a Crafters Kitchen download which I have just sponged with the inks as before. I do not know who makes the border punch that I used as there is no note of it on the machine. The flowers and leaves have been layered up using silicone glue and distress ink dabbed onto them. Peeled paint for the leaves, brick red, milled lavender and distressed paper for the flowers. The buttons sewn onto the border are from Paper Mania. The greeting stamped onto the border is from one of the new teddy bear stamps sets from DO Crafts.
